Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 August 2026

This policy explains how Nautical Nexus Group Ltd collects, uses, and protects personal data through the NNP marketing website (the “Site”) and the NNP mobile app (the “App”). Nautical Nexus Group Ltd is the data controller for both.

Data you or your crew enter into the App as part of operating a vessel — maintenance records, certificates, inventory, and similar operational data — is processed under the applicable customer agreement between Nautical Nexus Group Ltd and your employer or fleet operator, who controls that data. This policy covers the personal data the App itself collects to function: your account details, device permissions, and the data described in section 2 below.

1. What we collect through the Site

We only collect what you choose to give us through the Site:

  • Demo requests and enquiries: your name, email, role, company or fleet, number of vessels, and any message you send.
  • Basic technical data: standard server log information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

2. What we collect in the App

App accounts are provisioned by your fleet or vessel administrator, not through self-serve sign-up. Once you have an account, the App collects:

  • Account and profile data: your name, email, role or rank, and the ship or fleet you are assigned to.
  • Operational records you create: maintenance and inventory entries, certificates, defects, checklists, and other compliance records you or your crew enter, on behalf of your employer or fleet operator.
  • Photos and files: if you choose to use the camera or photo library to attach evidence, signed forms, or documents, those files are uploaded and stored against the relevant record.
  • Device information: used only to determine whether your device can receive push notifications.
  • Push notification token: used to deliver in-app notifications to your device.

The App does not track your location, and does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

3. How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a demo.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site and the App.
  • To authenticate your App account and enforce role-based access.
  • To deliver push notifications you have not opted out of.

4. Service providers

We use trusted third parties to run the Site and the App and process submissions — for example our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and Apple/Google push notification services. They process data only on our instructions.

5. Cookies

The Site uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function. Our usage analytics is cookieless, and we use no advertising or other non-essential cookies, so no cookie-consent banner is required. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first. The App does not use cookies.

6. Retention

We keep Site enquiry data for as long as needed to respond to you or until you ask us to remove it. App account and operational data is retained for as long as your employer or fleet operator’s agreement with us is active, or as required to meet maritime record-keeping obligations, whichever is longer.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. To exercise them, contact us using the details below; if your account was provisioned by an employer or fleet operator, we may need to involve them to action certain requests. If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we handle your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
